What to Expect at Serenity

Welcome! Serenity was created for the treatment and support of women, transgender men, and people assigned female at birth. Dr. Nicole Thurow provides a safe space to help support individuals through conception, pregnancy, birth and the many years postpartum. Please reach out to see if Nicole will be a good fit for you! 

Dr. Nicole Thurow brings over 10 years of experience as a Doctor of Physical Therapy with advanced clinical training in pelvic and abdominal health . As one of fewer than 800 board-certified Women’s Health Clinical Specialists, you can expect the highest level of expertise while in her care.

Initial evaluations and follow-up sessions are 60 minutes. 

At your initial appointment, I will be asking several questions about you and your condition in order to get a full understanding of your unique situation. Share as many details as you feel comfortable with. I will also do a comprehensive evaluation of your body's posture, flexibility, strength, coordination, and other details. This may or may not include an internal pelvic exam to assess your pelvic floor muscles and tissue health, which is always optional and never required.

Follow-up sessions will continue where we left off at the initial evaluation (as needed) and adjust as needed until you have met your goals.

There is no dress code for pelvic PT sessions. Wear whatever you feel most comfortable in! If certain clothing items are needed for follow-up sessions, Nicole will inform you of her recommendations. There is a convenient bathroom in the clinic for you to change in as needed.

Serenity offers out of network services. Choosing cash based care guarantees you will never experience:

     - pre-authorization delays

     - denials of in network coverage

     - surprise bills days, weeks or months after receiving care

Physical Therapy services are $150 per session, which are FSA/HSA eligible. Dr. Thurow is more than happy to provide a Super Bill for your payments to submit for out of network insurance reimbursement. And ask her about her sliding scale option which allows you access to her highly skilled care without the financial burden.

Clients that are able to pay full cost for services directly support affordable access to care for more women throughout the Greater Milwaukee Area!

My birth doula services are a $1400 out of pocket package, with flexible options for cost. Please reach out and we can discuss your options. It is an honor for me to be considered as part of your birth team!

Your children are welcome to join you at your session! Older children can hang out in the cozy waiting area or in the clinic with ou. We will do our best to entertain your young ones with a bouncer, playmat and toys for baby. You are always welcome to feed and change your babies while here. Let's not let childcare access get in the way of your progress. You can learn and achieve plenty while your children are with you, I promise!
